Estimating Renovation Costs

Real world renovations – as opposed to virtual ones – can be expensive. So to keep image edits and your budget in sync, RAI allows you to estimate the costs of implementing your re-imagined space in the real world.

Beta feature:

Cost estimation is a beta feature, and we are improving it all the time. While cost estimation is an “estimate,” RAI lets you edit any line items you think are inaccurate and need some tweaking.

To estimate renovation costs:

Make an edit or multiple edits to your image. For more information, see Editing Images.
Tap “…” (top right) | Show Costs. RAI considers your local area for pricing and displays the cost estimate.

If there are renovation activities for which you decide to hire a contractor, click the drop-down in the “Details” row, and click Labor. RAI will estimate the cost of that work from a highly rated contractor in your area.

If you plan to do some of the work yourself and already own a bunch of tools, uncheck them from the “Details” drop-down. RAI will remove those costs from your estimate. You KNEW that post-hole digger would come in handy someday!
