Editing Images - Design Consultation

The Tell RAI field is not the only way to re-imagine your space with Renovate AI. That’s especially important if you don’t know what to “tell RAI.” 

So if you are not sure where to start, don’t know what you want a space to feel like, or if you just want RAI to do what AI does best and offer an informed take on your space, you can ask the RAI designer for a design consultation.

Even users on the free version of RAI can try editing an image through a design consultation for free, once a month. Pro users can use it many more times a month… we are still working out the details. 

The Design Consultations feature allows you to edit your image by simply answering a few questions about your uploaded photo (or multiple photos of the same space). Then the RAI designer will take whatever direction you provide – however limited – and run with it! In a few minutes, you’ll get an edited image, of course! And you’ll get a Design Consultation Report, explaining the design choices and the estimated costs to renovate your space in the real world.

To edit an image through a design consultation:

1. Take a photo of your space. 

Tip: It can help if you take multiple photos of the space from different angles, so the designer has a full picture of the space. If you only have one photo, that’s fine too.

2. At the bottom of the RAI home screen, click Designer. (If you are on the canvas editing screen, you may have to click the “back” button to return to the home screen). 
3. Click “+” and then click “+” again to upload your photos.
4. If you want to include a floor-plan sketch or inspirational images, such as a screen shot from Pinterest or Houzz, upload those too in the optional drop downs.
5. Click Continue. The RAI Designer will start working on your Design Consultation Report, including a new image of your re-imagined space. 

A Design Consultation can take up to 5 minutes for the designer to create for you. You can continue using RAI any way you want. RAI will notify you when your report is ready.

Note: When you’re done reviewing your Design Consultation Report, you can edit the resulting image further by clicking Edit in Canvas at the bottom of the report. For more information, see Editing Images - the Tell RAI Field.
